My Story
For many years, my creative career has been centred around the greeting card industry, where I found great success with my "Camilla and Rose "collection. These humorous cards, aimed, primarily at middle-aged women, have brought joy and laughter to many, depicting the lighthearted, often comical side of everyday life. Through this work, I developed a strong appreciation, for how art can connect with people, bringing moments of levity and reflection into their lives.
However, about a year ago, a significant shift occurred in my professional life when my long time Publisher decided to retire.
While this marked the end of a fulfilling chapter, it also presented me with a unique opportunity to explore new, artistic avenues that had long intrigue me. With this newfound freedom, I have begun to delve into different mediums and subjects, pushing the boundaries of my creative expression, beyond the humorous illustrations that defined my earlier career.

Now, I find myself inspired by the subtleties of form, texture, and emotion in the natural world, and human experience. My current work reflects this shift, as I experiment, with acrylics, watercolour, mono, printing, and charcoal, to capture a broader range of themes. Whether it's through a detailed painting of a cow that captures both the creatures physicality, but also tried to convey a sense of its presence and character, or through dynamic charcoal drawings that explore the contrast of light and shadow, my aim is to evoke a deeper connection with the viewer.
This period of artistic exploration has reignited my passion for creating meaningful art, and I am eager to continue expanding my practice. While, humour will always be a part of who I am as an artist, I am now driven by a desire to explore and express a wider spectrum of life's experiences. My art is evolving, and I am excited to see where this journey will take me as I seek to share new perspectives and connect with audiences in fresh and impactful ways.
